The Beginning

In 2009, Jack Garbarino was at rock bottom. He weighed nearly 300 pounds, he couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath, and worst of all, he had given up all hope of ever getting fit. Like so many others, Jack had tried going to the gym to turn his life around, but he could never manage to stick to a workout plan. Then that summer, Jack got a job working for a moving company in San Diego. And that’s when his life changed forever.

By the end of that summer, Jack had dropped 40 pounds and as he lost weight, he gained confidence. He was becoming a whole new person. What happened? Jack had discovered accidentally what our primitive ancestors always knew: whole-body natural movement is the key to fitness. And the movements he was utilizing at his job as a mover turned out to be the perfect exercise. Not only did it touch every muscle, but it gave him the feeling of accomplishment that makes it easy to stick with.

Two years later, Jack had lost over 90 pounds and was moving furniture six days a week. He began tailoring his exercises to put on muscle as well. And since then, he never looked back.

The Movement® is inspired by what Jack learned during his incredible journey to a fit and healthy life. If he can do it, so can you!

What drives jack

The only thing Jack cares about more than fitness is helping people achieve their goals, and he’s proud to now be doing that full time. In 2013, he quit his job and moved to Los Angeles to start The Movement®, which has allowed him to improve the lives of thousands of people. Jack is also a dedicated philanthropist, donating his time and money to lift children in third world countries out of poverty by giving them the tools they need to thrive. With Jack, it's more than just fitness - he believes that making the world a better place is the path to a healthy soul.
